On Friday, 8^th December 2023 our Christmas Lunch was held in the wonderful Stationers’ Hall.  The building although recently refurbished dates to 1670 and is filled with fascinating history.  In attendance as guests of the Master were Alderwoman & Sheriff Dame Susan Langley with her consort Mr Gary Langley and Mr Christopher Hayward, Chair of The Policy Committee of the City of London Corporation along with his wife Alex. It was also the Master’s pleasure to clothe Chris Hayward as an Hon Liveryman of the Company prior to the lunch.

The afternoon began with a champagne reception before lunch was served which included the traditional roast turkey with all the trimmings.  The wine flowed as members and their guests enjoyed 3 fantastic courses ending with, of course Christmas pudding!  After lunch we took part in some traditional carols led by the superb Carolean singers, Sophia Jin, Olivia Singleton, and Ruby Bax.  The usual favourite of the interactive rendition of ‘The 12 Days of Christmas’ was a highlight for many.

Lt Commander Carla Higgins, accompanied by her husband Commander Alex Higgins, responded to the Masters speech on behalf of the guests and proposed a toast to the Company.
