The World Drinks Awards teamed up with the Worshipful Company of Distillers to present more than 200 country and world winners from their 2025 Awards tasting.

This event was held at the stunning Vintners’ Hall on Wednesday 23 July and is, apparently, the only event in the world where such a range of spirits are brought together to taste under one roof.  David Lee (Junior Warden) and I attended and we could certainly agree with that assessment!

Not only were there spirits but also a cocktail room and, to keep us all upright throughout the 2-hour tasting, a table with cheese, bread, biscuits, chutneys etc laid out. So quite an evening!

Before we left we were all offered to buy, for a further £20 which goes towards the Lord Mayor’s Appeal, a ‘pot luck’ bag containing 2 bottles to take home.  Fortunately after tasting gins and vodka, a tube and a train journey, the bottles and I arrived home safely, none the worse for wear!
