The Worshipful Company of Security Professionals Hosts Annual Carol Service at HM Tower of London…
Whisky Evening at Lola’s – A Spirited Success
On Thursday 16 January 2025, the Worshipful Company of Security Professionals hosted an exclusive Whisky Evening at Lola’s Underground, located in the London Hippodrome Casino. This sold-out event, limited to 40 attendees, was an extraordinary exploration of Kilkerran Single Malt Whisky, led by Dave Allen, Director of Sales and Marketing at Springbank Distillery.
Over the course of several hours, guests were taken on a guided tasting journey, discovering the unique flavours and stories behind six exceptional Kilkerran whiskies:
- Kilkerran 12 Year Old (70% Bourbon & 30% Sherry, 46%, Bottled 2024)
- Kilkerran 16 Year Old (70% Bourbon, 20% Sherry & 10% Rum, 46%, Bottled 2024)
- Kilkerran 15 Year Old (Fresh Bourbon 20th Anniversary Cask for Japan, 57.3%, Bottled 2024)
- Kilkerran 18 Year Old (Triple Distilled Refill Bourbon Warehouse Tasting Cask, 59.3%, Bottled 2024)
- Kilkerran 10 Year Old (Fresh Sherry Cage Bottle/Duty Paid Sample, 58.7%, Bottled 2024)
- Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch 11 (90% Bourbon & 10% Sherry, 57.9%, Bottled 2024)
This tasting was particularly special due to the inclusion of rare bottlings, such as the 15 Year Old Fresh Bourbon 20th Anniversary bottles (exclusively for the Japanese market) and the 18 Year Old Warehouse Tasting bottles, which are typically reserved for distillery visitors.
This memorable evening was generously sponsored by CDVI, a global leader in security solutions, specialising in access control, locking, door automation, and next-generation biometric entry systems. CDVI, represented by Court Assistant and Deputy Treasurer Paul Ramsay, not only sponsored the event but also provided the custom WCoSP whisky glasses used during the tasting.
We extend our gratitude to Simon Thomas, Executive Chairman of the Hippodrome Casino, for providing the exquisite venue, and to Andy King for his meticulous organisation. A special thanks to Dave Allen for his expert guidance through the tasting and for sharing the history and craftsmanship of Kilkerran whiskies.
With all costs generously covered by Simon, Paul, and Dave, the full ticket price (excluding VAT) was donated to the Charitable Trust. This fourth WCoSP whisky tasting was a tremendous success, and plans are already underway for the next event in September 2026. The fifth tasting promises to deliver an even more remarkable experience. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this memorable evening and supported the Company’s charitable initiatives.
