Court Lunch, Saddlers’ Hall – Monday 1 June
My final external event as Master! I had the honour of being invited, along with other Masters/Prime Wardens/Upper Bailiffs, to the Worshipful Company of Saddlers’ Court Lunch on Monday 1 June. Thankfully the temperature for travelling was much cooler but I received a very warm welcome from the Prime Warden, Mr Edward Bullen, Wardens and Court Assistants. Saddlers’ Hall is well known to our Company as we store our items (gowns, silverware etc) in one of their Vaults and, until last year, it was the venue for our Common Hall. So it was my very great pleasure to join them at this event where we enjoyed a delicious 3-course lunch with fine wines and Port.
I now have 2 days left as Master before I hand over to my successor, Wes Harper, on Wednesday 3 June at Drapers’ Hall. I then become the Immediate Past Master. I would like to thank you all for reading my Updates throughout my Master’s year. It has been a pleasure to write them and I hope you have enjoyed reading them – and learnt what the Master gets up to! Thank you – and I send you my very best wishes.
Sue Jones,
Master
