Election Court and Dinner – Tuesday 21 April
Every Court meeting is important and our Election Court is held every April or May. This year we were hosted by Vintners’ Hall for both the Court and the Dinner which followed it. I am delighted to report that Wes Harper is now Master-Elect, Andrew Knights is Senior Warden-Elect, David Lee is Middle Warden-Elect and Tim Molden is Junior Warden-Elect. New Court Assistants and Stewards were also elected by the Court. The Installation Court and Lunch will take place on 3 June at Drapers Hall. I will move to the role of Immediate Past Master (IPM). The Installation Lunch is advertised on our Website so please do book if you can join us – it really is a splendid and important occasion.
The Cobham Lecture, Honourable Company of Air Pilots – Wednesday 22 April
This year’s Cobham Lecture, hosted by the Honourable Company of Air Pilots at the RAF Club on 22 April, was given by Rob Evans, a Commercial Airline Pilot, entitled ‘In the Slipstream of Alcock and Brown’. John Alcock and Arthur Brown were British aviators who, in 1919, made the first non-stop transatlantic flight.
