Wes is the founder and Managing Director of Harper Morgan, a Management Consultancy dedicated to clients in the international security sector.
Wes began his professional journey after qualifying as an electronics engineer, specifically in the defence sector, where he focused on the research and development of advanced missile and radar systems. His career took a significant turn when he transitioned into the aviation sector, where he worked on crucial flight data recorders. This role involved investigating aircraft incidents and crashes, which provided him with invaluable insights into safety and security protocols. In the 1990s, Wes made another pivotal move by joining the commercial security sector, where he could apply his technical expertise to a broader range of security challenges. He achieved his Master’s Degree (MBA) in international business, which further equipped him with the skills necessary for leadership. Over the years, he has held several senior executive positions within the Security Industry, culminating in the founding of Harper Morgan in 2006.
Wes became a member of the Worshipful Company of Security Professionals in 2011. He currently serves as the Middle Warden and is the Chair of the Sheriffs’ Award Working Group. Additionally, he takes on the role of Apprentice Master and leads the Company’s efforts in securing sponsorships. Notably, Wes previously held the position of Chair of the Membership Committee for nine years.
During the challenging times of the COVID pandemic, Wes played a crucial role in assisting several organisations in protecting Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) sites. He achieved this by deploying Rapid Deployment CCTV towers, which proved essential for maintaining security during a period of heightened risk. In 2023, recognising the growing demand in this niche sector, he established another company, Security Towers Ltd, to further support this rapid growth.
Outside of his professional commitments, Wes dedicates time to volunteering and sponsoring a local children’s football club. He also manages his son’s football team in the Hampshire leagues. With over 35 years of experience in martial arts, Wes holds senior belts in several styles. When he is not engaged in work or volunteering for the Worshipful Company, Wes enjoys travelling with his wife, who serves as the Clerk of the Worshipful Company, their son, and their beloved Boxer, “Apollo.”
