Andrew is Chief Executive of the Knights Security Group with a career of over 30 years in the Security sector. Andrew has run a variety of companies in the security manufacturing sector both family owned as well a large publicly owned businesses. Andrew has sold and marketed British Security products around the word and travelled extensively himself. One of Andrew’s particular interests is in the developing technology of the Security Industry where through innovation and technical excellence, supported by outstanding customer service, he has successfully taken two innovative UK products and made them the global market leader in their sector. Andrew has contributed to a variety of Industry bodies such as the BSIA where he served as a Director for many years and was active on the SEMS, Property Marking and Export Councils. In his time as Chair of the BSIA Export Council he was fortunate to lead some overseas missions with their Patron HRH Prince Michael of Kent. Andrew also represented the SME sector on the Security Sector Advisory Group. In terms of developing Industry Standards, Andrew has worked on various BSI Working groups and was responsible for drafting the original British Standard on Smoke Security Products.

Andrew joined the Company in 2000 as Member number 84 and took his Freedom at the Court meeting held on 6th November 2000 and Freedom of the City of London in March 2002. In 2008 Andrew was one of the first group in the Company to take Livery and was robed as the 11th Liveryman of the Company. More recently he was made an Honorary Court Assistant in April 2017. Andrew has been very involved in the various committees of the Company, the first Committee being F&GP in 2003, and then as a Court Assistant from July 2005. Andrew was elected to the Office of Treasurer with effect from 1 July 2006 a position he held until April 2017. Serving as Treasurer for just under 11 years makes Andrew the longest serving Officer of the Company so far. Andrew’s current involvement in the Company is as an Honorary Court Assistant, Chair of the Apprentice Management Group, Chair of the Ordinance Working Group, and Member of F&GP, E&C, the Comms Sub Committee and Membership Committees. Andrew also served as a Trustee and Treasurer on the Charitable Trust from July 2006 until April 2017.
