Launch Reception of Veterans’ Garden – Thursday 12 February
On Thursday 12 February, accompanied by The Clerk and the Chair of the Charitable Trust, I was at Guildhall for the Launch Reception of the Veterans’ Garden. The Garden is an established part of the Lord Mayor’s Big Curry Lunch, which helps to raise funds to support current members and veterans of HM Armed Forces.
The Garden is designed and created in Guildhall Yard by the Gardeners’ Livery Company and every year it reflects a different theme associated with veterans’ lives. This year it was designed by a professional garden designer, Gianna Utilini, and named ‘The Garden of the Senses’. It is on display until the evening of 16 April should you wish to visit.
Livery Masters were joined by the Lady Mayor Dame Susan Langley and the Mayoral Consort, Gary, as well as Sheriff Robert Hughes-Penney, members of HM Forces, commercial sponsors, Aldermen and senior officials of the Corporation of the City of London and other distinguished guests.
Sue Jones,
Master
