St. Ermin’s Hotel is a Grade II-listed building from the late Victorian period, which is now a four-star hotel in London, close to St James’s Park. The hotel was one of the early mansion blocks in the capital and is thought to be named after an ancient monastery reputed to have occupied the site before the 10th century. The building was converted to a hotel in 1896–99, and during the Second World War was a meeting place of the British intelligence services, notably the birthplace of the Special Operations Executive (SOE)
