Simon Causer CSyP

I join the Worshipful Company of Security Professionals based on the expertise that I gained during a thirty year policing career; a career that started in a small mining town in Staffordshire and ended in the corridors of power within Parliament and the Royal Palaces..

My first real step towards becoming a recognised security professional was my qualification as a Counter Terrorism Security Coordinator, followed soon after with a First Class degree in Security Consultancy. Achieving these brought me into contact with fellow professionals in the industry, already working to keep London secure.

In 2016 I took over as the operational policing commander within the Palace of Westminster and, working through 2017, this became one of the most challenging times in my career. The experience I gained during this period is what launched me into my second career.

Now, as Head of Security for the City of London Corporation, my goal is to build on that experience and work across the City to help keep it a safe and secure environment for those that live, work and visit.
