Nick is a civil servant and has worked in a number of departments including the Cabinet Office, Ministry of Defence, Home Office, and Ministry of Justice. Nick joined the Worshipful Company of Security Professionals in 2018 as an Apprentice attached to Past Master Russell Penny. During his time as an apprentice, he was actively involved in setting up the University Royal Naval Unit apprentice pipeline which sees one member of the unit join the company each year on the recommendation of the commanding officer. Nick subsequently was granted Freedom of the Company and the City of London in 2023. Nick joined the Charitable Trust as a Trustee in July 2023 and manages the Security Benevolent Fund. Nick became a Liveryman in June 2025.
