
Morgan Ely MSc MSyl is the Founder and CEO of echomis Ltd, a portfolio consultancy providing senior advisory and practical, mission-focused
support to public and private sector defence and security clients, technology SMEs, start-ups and investment firms.
She brings 16 years’ experience across Defence, National Security, spanning operational delivery, policy, and capability development roles within several UK government departments; Defence Science Technology Laboratory, Ministry of Defence, Home Office, National Security and technology transformation work at Deloitte, alongside advisory roles with emerging technology Start-ups and SMEs. She has worked closely with Five Eyes partners, NATO, allied partners and special forces; her career has focused on helping organisations collect & exploit data, intelligence, turning risk into clear, defensible judgement and operationally relevant insight.
Through her consultancy, echomis, Morgan works across a portfolio of defence, security and technology companies, helping bridge the gap between emerging technologies and the people who rely on them in the real world. She advises on UK market entry, regulatory and compliance positioning, trust and assurance, and strategic engagement with government, law enforcement and commercial partners. Morgan has built a trusted network across UK government departments, defence and industry, which she leverages to provide access, insight and senior-level
challenge. Her core strength lies in translating cutting-edge capability into practical, operational impact.
Morgan has worked extensively across the Middle East, Asia, and North Africa, supporting sensitive programmes in complex and high-risk environments. Most recently, in 2025, she worked in Ukraine supporting the defence-technology ecosystem, working from Kyiv with local engineering teams and international partners to help bridge operational need, technical delivery, and international engagement.
Morgan is a Member of The Security Institute, a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Security Professionals, and holds a Master’s degree in Intelligence and Security. She is a strong advocate for women and girls in Science Technology, Engineering & Maths (STEM) and for advancing gender equality across security and defence. She serves as a UN Women UK Delegate to the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW70) and as an Ambassador for Women Empowering Defence (WED), promoting diversity and inclusion within the defence and security community. She actively supports STEM outreach and mentoring, particularly for young people from under-represented backgrounds, and is a committed supporter of veteran and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) charities.
