DESCRIPTION:We are very privileged that by the kind permission of the Constable of the Tower\, General Sir Gordon Messenger and the Governor\, Brigadier Andrew Jackson\, and through the good offices of our Honorary Chaplain\, the Revd Canon Roger Hall\, our Carol Service will again this year be held in the atmospheric Chapel Royal of St Peter ad Vincula\, within the walls of HM Tower of London. \nThe Master\, Wardens and Court invite you to join them at the service\, with readings from members of the Company and Carols led by the Chapel Choir under the leadership of the Master of Music\, Colm Carey. \nThe Service will start at 6.00pm\, entry to the Chapel will be from 5.45pm (please note this is 30 minutes earlier than previous years). \nDue to the popularity of the service\, places will be limited to 4 per member. \nWhilst there is no charge for attending the service\, a donation of £10 per head will be collected and passed directly to the Chapel. \nWith special thanks to Bidvest Noonan for their support

DESCRIPTION:The Company’s Annual Livery Lunch\, sponsored by Gratte Bothers\, will be held on Wednesday\, 14 May 2025 at Innholders’ Hall. The lunch is to recognise all Honorary Liverymen of the Company and to thank them for their continued support; we are particularly pleased that The Rt Hon the Lord Mayor\, Alderman Alastair King will be our principal guest. \nThe Lunch is open to Liverymen only and particularly those who have been clothed since the last lunch held in May 2024. DESCRIPTION:Alderman & Sheriff Gregory Jones KC and Sheriff David Chalk will be hosting the 2025 Sheriffs’ Award for Bravery Launch Reception at the Old Bailey on Friday 21st February 2025. They would like to remind you that nominations for the 2025 Sheriffs’ Award for Bravery are open Sheriffs’ Award for Bravery – WCoSP. \nThe City of London Sheriffs’ Award for Bravery is an annual award to individuals who\, without thought for their own safety\, have acted to confront immediate danger in order to protect another from serious harm or prevent serious damage to property. The Award celebrates heroism and selflessness as an inspiration to others. \nThe 2025 Award will be the twentieth since the Award was conceived to recognise spontaneous and heroic acts by members of the public following the London bombings of 7 July 2005. \nTickets for this event are limited. Booking is not yet open.

SUMMARY:The Lord Mayor’s Show
DESCRIPTION:For the first time\, and to mark our 25th anniversary\, the Worshipful Company of Security Professionals is entering a float in the 2024 Lord Mayor’s Show. We hope that you will be able to join us on the streets of the City of London to support our Livery Company. \nThe Lord Mayor’s Show is the oldest\, longest\, best loved and least-rehearsed civic procession in the world. The 2024 Show will set off from Mansion House on 9 November at 11am. \nThe Lord Mayor’s Show dates back to the early 13th century\, when a desperate King John granted that the City of London could appoint its own Mayor. He insisted that each newly-elected Mayor must come upriver to distant Westminster and swear loyalty to the Crown. The Mayors\, and later the Lord Mayors of London have been making that journey for over 800 years. Around them grew up the noisy\, colourful\, joyous procession that over the centuries became known as the Lord Mayor’s Show. \nThe procession and running order are published at the start of October each year\, following the election of the new Lord Mayor.
