Progression in the Company

The Livery Route Map of The Worshipfull Company of Security Professionals.


Click on the headings below to reveal the detail

  • Age 21 and over;
  • security practitioner by profession, or strong interest in the objects of the Company;
  • joining fee payable - amount dependant on age;
  • preparatory stage to admission to Freedom of the Company.

For Freedom by Redemption (other rules apply for Freedom by Patrimony and Servitude);

  • Member for at least 12 months;
  • Freedom fine payable dependant on age;
  • has attended at least two of the Company events and a New Members Briefing;


  • Must be Freeman of the City of London;
  • must have been a Freeman of the Company for 2 years;
  • conduct as Freeman has been acceptable;
  • must be an active member of the Company;
  • Livery fine payable;
  • must have no outstanding debts with the Company.

 

  • Appointed by Committee chairman;
  • regular attendance expected;
  • should be Liverymen, but may be Freeman who intends to seek Livery;
  • qualifying criteria for election to Court.


  • Elected by ballot of Liverymen and Freemen of the Company or exceptionally by the Court;
  • must have been a Committee member or member of the Board of the WCoSP Charitable Trust for 2 years;
  • fine payable on election;
  • may not serve more than 12 consecutive years.

 


  • Elected by the Court from Court Assistants;
  • in office for a year;
  • ex-officio member of Standing Committees.

  • Elected by the Court;
  • next step from Junior Warden;
  • in office for a year;
  • ex-officio member of Standing Committees


  • Elected by the Court
  • next step from Middle Warden;
  • in office for a year;
  • ex-officio member of Standing Committees.


  • Elected by the Court;
  • next step from Senior Warden;
  • in office for a year;
  • Chairman of the Court;
  • ex-officio member of Standing Committees;
  • at the end of the year as Master becomes Immediate Past Master (IPM) acts as deputy to the Master;
  • remains on the Court as a Past Master for the four years following their year as Master.
